This Mother's Day, we're putting the spotlight on one of the most hardworking and incredible mums we know. Meet our very own Co-Founder, Tabitha. We're deeply fortunate and what better way to celebrate her than on a day like today. Scroll down for a Q&A on all things motherhood, lessons learned and having a healthy work-life balance.
Tab wears the Hemp Slim Tee and Billie Jean (launching this week).
Tell us about yourself and what you're passionate about.
My name is Tabitha McGregor.
I am passionate about fostering creativity, my family, friends and living life in a graceful way.
Best lesson you've learnt as a mum?
There is no such thing as perfection, but there is such thing as unconditional love which softens and allows me to accept things that I can’t change, parenting fails and exhaustion. The touch of your child’s hand on your own is enough to refuel you and really amongst all of the noise in this world, my children have taught me that it is the little things that count… And that laughter and hugging are the recipe for happiness.
What does it mean to you to be a mum?
It means strength and love and a commitment to leaving behind a legacy of humans that lift this world up through mindfullness, creative expression and kindness. It is also the biggest gift that I have ever received, it has given me so much growth as a human.
Has becoming a mother given you a new appreciation for your mother? How?
Absolutely. My mum passed away 4 years ago and I think through the process of caring for her through her illness I realised the relationship you have with your child is eternal. As my children grow older I can see more clearly the reason behind choices that my mum made, the incredible love, strength and humble care she applied to her own children, wow motherhood is a gift and an honour.
Tell us how you manage a healthy work-life balance.
Wellllllll, it is not the easiest to stay balanced to be honest. I recently have carved out more time for myself through exercise. On the weekends I spend as much time outside gardening, beach walks, swimming and as I am originally come from an art background make sure that I am painting regularly. My husband and I work together everyday with Thrills and we include our kids in our business as much as possible. Thrills is a huge part of our family life and we work as a team.
How will you be spending Mother's Day this year?
With Brooke and my two incredible boys, Ace and Bowie. Low key, beach, picnic….then probably a skatepark somewhere.
PS. It's not too late to spoil mum. Left it to the last minute? Don't worry... we've got you sorted. Give mum the gift of choice with one of our gift cards (delivered instantly by email).
